PVST Poster Design
Project Overview
August 2024
Texas A&M University's College of Performance, Visualization, and Fine Arts premiered an amended BA in Performance and Visual Studies (PVST) in Fall of 2024. The program emphasizes critical analysis and research on the role of the arts in the human experience. From theatre to social media, cinema to gaming, music to dance, PVST provides a unique and dynamic interdisciplinary degree.
My poster design was selected in a campus-wide competition, seeking a new eye-catching poster to represent the PVST program, now displayed prominently across campus. This project allowed me to combine creative illustration with strategic visual communication, aiming to capture attention in a high-traffic environment.
Objectives & Approach
The main goal of the design was to reflect the interdisciplinary essence and significance of Performance and Visual Studies. To achieve this, I combined illustrations, bold colors, and geometric shapes to create a collage-style human portrait. I wanted to incorporate imagery, pertaining to, technology, musical instruments, and performance, aiming to relay the program's focus on the role of the arts in the human experience.
Results & Impact
Since its selection, my design has received positive feedback from both peers and faculty and has been seen by hundreds of students and visitors across campus. This experience taught me the impact of effective, eye-catching visuals in public spaces and strengthened my ability to communicate a message in a concise, compelling way.
